The
events leading up to the 2007 Capital One Bowl proved to be
quite memorable in more ways than one for the law firm of
Rice & Rose. This Bowl game, of course, served as the
culmination of the esteemed career of Lloyd Carr as the head
coach for the University of Michigan.

But locally, through the efforts of Sam Sword, a former
University of Michigan star linebacker and husband to Raven
Sword, an attorney for Rice & Rose, the firm afforded an
opportunity like no other for sixty local area youth to
attend the December 29, 2007 practice. Michigan practices have been closed
to the public since 1969. The teens were treated to
breakfast, lunch, and a t-shirt and were able to hear from
players and coaches alike about what it takes to play at the
Division One level.
