Associate
attorney Karen A. Foxman, the Volusia
County Young Lawyers Division President-Elect, attended the Affiliate Outreach Conference ("AOC")
in November. The AOC is a three day program with attendees
from the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, the
Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division and local Affiliates. The
weekend includes social events, a roundtable discussion,
continuing legal education classes, practice ideas and project
presentations. Each Affiliate is encouraged to develop a young
lawyers project to be put into action in their communities.
Based on the project presented, the Board of Governors awards
sub-grants to help fund the projects. Ms. Foxman
presented a project that will raise funds for, and will provide
local students with, school supplies, for which they were
awarded a sub-grant.
